Bahrain Financial Harbour - 2000 Pulsar ChromaRange Fixtures!

One of the largest ever LED lighting schemes in the Middle East, at Bahrain Financial Harbour utilises Pulsar ChromaRange

Pulsar Light in conjunction with their distributor in Bahrain, Behzad Lighting, recently completed one of the largest ever LED lighting schemes in the Middle East, at Bahrain Financial Harbour.

The project has taken three years from conception to completion and covers a complex of four buildings – the Dual Towers, each rising 54 storeys over the Manama shoreline, the seven storey Financial Centre and the ten storey Harbour House.

Behzad Lighting supplied to the project with a vast kit list of Pulsar ChromaRange RGB colour mixing LED fixtures including;

The entire system is controlled synchronously using ShowCAD Artist with customised architectural software, that enables any AutoCAD 2D drawings to be transformed into real-time animated RGB visualisations.

The long distances between buildings and up to roof levels required that data had to be fed from the central control room over three single mode fibre cables, which then switched to Ethernet in each remote building and then to DMX512, via 12 x Pathports feeding 24 x DMX universes.

Initial visual programming was carried out from a laptop via a private WI-FI network, set up by Pulsar, located on the financial centre roof.

Installation was carried out over several months by four dedicated teams of electricians from Al Hamad Construction, the main contractor for the entire Bahrain Financial Harbour project, largely from motorised cradles suspended from the top of the buildings.

System design, commissioning and programming was carried out by Pulsar’s Middle East Sales Manager, John Lethbridge.

Project Manager for Behzad Lighting was Sanju Jacob.

The architects were Ahmed Janahi Architects, the lighting concept was designed by Sudiro Huang.
